Sugar Loaf with Visor
(c. Mid 14th Century)
Finished September 16, 2019
The helmet was made from 4130 alloy steel. The top has made from 0.125"/11ga/3.2mm and the rest of the helmet 0.090"/13ga/2.3mm. The helmet was heat treated to a HRC48 hardness. The helmet was blackened and the cross was tinned by hot dripping.

Finished November 8, 2014
The helmet was made from 0.091"/2.3mm 17-7ph Stainless Steel with 0.025"/0.6mm 260 brass for the cross. The helmet was heat treated to 17-7ph Stainless Steel condition TH1100, which has a Rc35-37 hardness. The brass is 0.040"/1.0mm 260 "Cartridge" brass.

Finished April 15, 2014
The top was made from 0.125"/3.2mm 4130 alloy steel, the bottom and visor were made from 0.100"/2.54mm 4130 alloy steel. The helmet was heat treated to a Rc43 hardness. The brass is 0.040"/1.0mm 260 "Cartridge" brass.
